Mouflon sheep are found on the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Cyprus. They have been introduced into many parts of Europe. The mouflon live in mountainous terrain, usually above the tree line or in mountain meadows.
Mouflon can be 0.9 meters at the shoulder and weigh up to 50 kg for males and 35 kg for females. Mouflon can live up to 8-12 years.
The horns of mature rams are curved almost one full revolution (up to 85 cmGenerally, only males have horns, but some females may have small horns.
Mouflon are herbivores eating mainly grasses.
Mating season is from late autumn to early winter. Gestation lasts 5 months and produces one to two offspring.
