Volunteer

Friends of High Park Zoo, its Board and Friends at the Zoo are powered by volunteers. Volunteers are needed at High Park Zoo to support our activities. There are many activities which people can be involved in. Our main volunteer duties include:

Monitoring the Llamas: Show the children how to feed the pellets to the Llamas and ensure that the children do not climb through the fence etc.

The petting area: Explain the rules of the petting area to the children and parents and ensure that the animals are handled appropriately.

Other duties: Answering questions about the animals, handing out flyers etc.

Community Events: We hold events in the Zoo throughout the year and require helping hands to make them run smoothly such as assisting at information tables, setting up and running games or taking event photos.
