Master Plan - Phase 1

Overview

As part of its 10 year Master Plan, Friends of High Park Zoo replaced its aging Llama building with a new log cabin that’s larger, winterized and able to hold all the llamas of all ages, and provide a new home for our capybaras.

It is now the main entry point to the Zoo and the first impression visitors see. And it is critical to meeting the Zoo’s primary objectives: interactive and educational learning, intergenerational play and a quality experience for tourists of all ages and backgrounds.

Today, the Zoo can offer children’s programming during the spring, summer and fall weekends. This includes petting and feeding the llamas and fun educational activities with and about the Zoo animals.

With a larger and improved Llama Building, visitors to the Zoo can now enjoy a memorable South American wildlife experience in a spectacular natural area in the heart of the City.
