On Sunday September 7, 2014 come celebrate Grandparent’ day with your family at High Park Zoo. From 11 am to 2 pm, visitors may pet and feed the llamas, pet rabbits, and colour at the Zoo llama pen. High Park Zoo is open daily, free of charge, from 7am until dusk. The Zoo is home to a variety of animal species from around the world including bison, llamas, peacocks, reindeer, highland cattle, emus and sheep.

High Park Zoo has been open for 120 years and is one of the oldest zoos in North America. The Zoo is located in High Park, a short walk from the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground and Grenadier Restaurant. Free parking available near the Zoo’s entrances.

There are many other activities taking place on Grandparents’ day in High Park Zoo including an Afternoon Tea at Grenadier Restaurant, walking tours led by Colborne Lodge staff and activities at the High Park Nature Centre.

For those who can’t make it to High Park Zoo for Grandparentsb Day, they can still enjoy the llama pen activities from 11 am to 2 pm on weekends and holidays until the end of October.
Donations to support High Park Zoo may be made to Friends of High Park Zoo in person at the Zoo donation stations, by mail or online. Donation instructions are located at www.HighParkZoo.ca/participate. Friends of High Park Zoo is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization. Their current focus is to improve the Zoo through new capital projects.
